If the newsgroup is no longer in use then why are people still allowed to
post here??

If it is possible to post then people will post if they need help.

If Micosoft or whoever don;t want people to use the news group them take it
offline istead of getting stoppy with the people that happen to post here,
looking for advice.

It is hard to remove an NNTP newsgroup. MS decided that it is not worth
the confusion of having orphaned groups on other newsservers.

If one wants an answer to their question it will be more useful for them to
post in the ACTIVE NEWSGROUPS that are listed in the link I provided.
